Hiltra
ATEX Hot Rooms for BASF
For a world player within the chemical industry, Hiltra produced two heat chambers, each with a capacity of 4 IBC containers, for out-of-house installation. The special feature is that the highly flammable liquids in the IBC containers must be heated to as much as 120 °C. Therefore, an elaboration based on the Chemotainer program was chosen with special panels with a thickness of 100 mm with a fire resistance of > 90 minutes and, of course, in the color RAL 5010/blue desired by the client. The electrical heating configuration in both hot rooms is fully explosion-proof. Part of the protection is that the sliding doors are secured and lock on explosion-proof door retention magnets when the heating process starts. In connection with the high temperatures, these explosion-proof door retention magnets are additionally cooled by explosion-proof fans concealed in perfo covers. Doors can only be opened after a certain "cool-down" period. The stainless steel control cabinet is linked by the client to its own production program and thus the heating process can be remotely controlled and monitored.
